“How is LeBron averaging more points, rebounds and assists than him?” Nick Wright suggests Anthony Davis is majorly underperforming in his ‘supposed’ prime

Nick Wright and Anthony Davis
NBA analyst Nick Wright has questioned Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis’ below par performance in the ongoing NBA season. The Los Angeles Lakers have played three matches and lost all of them in the 2022-23 season. The franchise seemed to be getting difficult with a long season ahead.
In a recent episode of ‘What’s Wright,’ Nick Wright was talking about Anthony Davis. He quoted, “He’s also leading the Lakers in minutes, how is LeBron averaging more points, rebound, assists and minutes than Anthony Davis? How is that possible when Anthony Davis is supposed to be in his prime.”
In the same episode, Nick also praised NBA legend LeBron James for playing at a high rate. He quoted, “LeBron James is the third oldest player in the whole league. All he’s done so far is give you 27, 11 and 7. Last night’s game, he gave you 31, 8 and 8. Did he miss the game-winner? He did miss the game-winner. Should he have ever been in the position to where they needed a game winner, of course not.”
Is Anthony Davis still considered one of the league’s best jump shooters?

The Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis lost a lot of game time last season due to injuries, and the Lakers suffered a lot in his absence. He was a prime factor when they won the 2020 NBA championship. Even in this regular season, the team depends on him to step up. Davis has made just 20% of his 3.3 attempted triples per game count through three games he played this year.
Beforehand, he was known as a solid long-range shooter of the league. Davis couldn’t convert his shots from between 10 feet to the three-point line through his first two games. The Lakers lost to the Trailblazers on Sunday, where the Trailblazer’s defense didn’t even care to defend Davis when he was shooting from the corner. It wasn’t a great game, and the team looked miserable.
The Lakers have to start planning for a comeback as there is a long season ahead of them and if they want to make it to the playoffs. They might even have to take a few tough calls for the betterment of the franchise. A lot will depend on the Lakers’ management, front office, and head coach Darvin Ham, and it will be interesting to see how they make plans to make a stronger comeback.
