“Showed more fights against reporter than on the glass vs Celtics” Nick Wright takes a dig at Draymond Green for unnecessary aggression in the post-game interview

“Showed more fights against reporter than on the glass vs Celtics” Nick Wright takes a dig at Draymond Green for unnecessary aggression in the post-game interview

Nick Wright mocks Draymond Green

Draymond Green looked disturbed over his performance in game 3 against Boston Celtics and he took that frustration in the postgame as he furiously held on to one particular reporter over his “podcast” comments. Nick Wright though supported the media personnel, slamming the former DPOY of Golden State Warriors over his behavior.

Golden State Warriors had another bad 4th quarter performance, that cost them the second game in the series. Big-3 of the Boston Celtics scored a total of 77 points impacting massively on the game, while similar could not be said about the Warriors core. Klay Thompson had one of the better games in this series, and finished with 25 points, while Stephen Curry continued to provide offensive fire to a rather lackluster Golden State Warriors offense. He again led the scoring and had a game-high 31 points. But the third star of the Golden State Warriors- Draymond Green failed awfully in the game. Green scored just 2 points in the game while making 3 assists and grabbing a total of 4 rebounds in 38 mins of game time.

Frustrated by the performance, Draymond was not in good mood for the postgame interview, where he questioned his IQ on a reporter questioning about “The Draymond Green show”. While it was rather a personal attack on that media Personnel, Nick Wright thrashed Green’s comments and twitted “Draymond showed more fight with this random reporter (who was asking a fair question, by the way) than he did against any of the Celtics on the glass tonight.”

Golden State Warriors are very much familiar with the NBA Finals scenarios and know the importance of every minute on the floor. Draymond Green was playing in his 6th NBA finals and never felt so helpless in the past. He might not be a very high scorer or elite at rebounds/blocks (compared to current top-ranked rim protectors), but he certainly has a high game IQ and vision allowing him to detect the flow of the game.

But in the series against Boston Celtics, Draymond seemed lost in 2 out of 3 games and the Warriors lost both of those games – despite keeping “safe scoring distance” with their opponents. Green annoyed by himself was clearly not in good mood to answer any questions in the postgame conference.

One Interviewer asked 3-time NBA Champion Draymond his opinions on whether his podcast gives some insights into the Warriors’ game plan or strategy to tackle the Celtics. For Draymond – who is currently being targeted for his “New Media” views and podcast, the question was an indirect taunt and he could not control but laughed out that thought.

First Draymond let that question pass with just 1-2 sentenced answers, negating any idea of giving out insights. But later while answering another question, 32-years old star went back to that interviewer and questioned his IQ over the thought drawn. Though Draymond followed it with an apology, his restlessness implied his inner struggles.

Nick Wright took a dig at Green over his answer, “IQ Comment” and game. He said that Green looked more competitive in front of mike than on the court – rebounding or blocking shots. Celtics had 4 rebounds in the same, while Warriors managed only 31. Green had -13 +/- in game 3, second only to Andrew Wiggins who had -16.

Golden State Warriors will stay in the Boston for Game 4 and need to be prepared for more aggressive Celtics fans and players.
