“No such thing happened” Nick Young claps back at rumors that he got knocked out in controversial stoppage
Nick Young with Los Angeles Lakers
NBA player Nick Young is always surrounded by controversies and his boxing debut on Saturday was nothing different. Nick Young’s original opponent, rapper Blueface, withdrew from the match two days before the event after he was denied a boxing license in Las Vegas. YouTube star Minikon filled in as Blueface’s replacement. The latter put up a sensational performance considering how he had just two days to practice.
The match was called off in the fourth round after an unintentional headbutt by Minikon hit Nick Young. The former Los Angeles Lakers guard fell off the ring and lay down for a reasonable time before the fight ended abruptly. People started mocking Nick and believed he was already knocked out even before the match ended. Nick got back at the rumors which surfaced on social media against him. He tweeted, “Y’all crazy Sayin I got knock out…. I was whooping that boy ass.”
Nick even mentioned that he would have won the match hadn’t he been headbutted. He said, “I felt good, I hit him a lot, I felt I came and did what I had to do. He hit me with a cheap shot and that’s what you’ve got to do when you’re losing. I don’t want him getting a headbutt at the end and thinking he won off a headbutt, I don’t know how you can think he won.” It will be interesting to see how Nick makes a comeback to the boxing ring.
NBA fans make fun of Nick Young’s boxing moves
Recently, Nick Young made his boxing debut but unfortunately he flew out of the ring and didn’t had a good skillset for the sport. Many NBA fans watched this boxing bout keenly, but they all made fun of Nick’s moves. The fans even made many hilarious tweets and were seen heavily criticizing Nick. Celebrity boxing is an entertaining sport, and if Young gets better at it, he’ll surely get a bag and have more fights for fans to enjoy rather than making fun of him.
