Nikola Jokic’s exceptional talent on the basketball court has solidified his status as one of the best players in the world. In a remarkable feat, he recently led the Denver Nuggets to their first-ever NBA championship. Throughout the postseason, Jokic played a pivotal role in securing the coveted title, earning himself the Finals MVP award in the process. However, Jokic also exacted revenge on one of his former trash-talking teammates.
Nikola Jokic, despite not receiving the full recognition he deserves, maintains a low-key demeanor and finds joy in activities that may not be fully understood or appreciated by everyone. However, this perception doesn’t accurately reflect the true nature of the two-time MVP. Jokic is not only an exceptional basketball player but is also known for his humor and wit. He possesses the ability to cleverly dismantle trash-talkers with his sharp and savage comebacks.
Nikola Jokic’s former teammate, Mike Miller, had a history of teasing him about not being a champion, even going as far as trash-talking him when Jokic recorded his first triple-double. However, after years of enduring Miller’s comments, Jokic finally had his revenge by winning the 2023 NBA Finals
During their time as teammates from 2015 to 2017, Mike Miller and Nikola Jokic developed a strong bond, evident from their playful trash-talking. In a recent appearance on “The Let It Fly Show,” Miller shared an amusing anecdote about how Jokic hilariously clapped back at him.
The 2× NBA champion said, “I wake up to a text at 3:30 in the morning from Joker and I used to always make fun of him because you know, he didn’t win a championship, didn’t do nothing. He has his first triple-double and I said, ‘Oh that’s cute blah blah blah whatever.’”
Miller added, “And, so he text me in the morning and said, ‘Hey brotha, you ever won MVP? or Finals MVP?’ I said, ‘No, I haven’t.’ He said, ‘You kinda s*cked didn’t ya?’ I said, ‘ Yeah, I s*cked.’”
This amusing interaction further highlights the significance of Jokic’s exceptional performance throughout the previous season. With their eyes set on repeating their championship success, Jokic and the Nuggets aim to build upon their historical run in the upcoming season. The lighthearted banter between Miller and Jokic adds an extra touch of camaraderie to their shared journey.

Nikola Jokic trolls Ish Smith moments after the Nuggets won their first-ever championship
Ish Smith is a 13-year veteran who won his first ring with the Denver Nuggets as Nikola Jokic led them to the title. In the past 13 years, he has also suited up for a record-breaking 13 teams in the league. He has been traded seven times and released six times. The Nuggets are his 13th team and probably the best one so far.
Following Jokic’s first championship victory, he encountered Smith in the lobby and didn’t hesitate to engage in some friendly banter. Jokic, in celebration of his big win, jokingly told Smith, “You needed 13 years to wait for me.” However, Smith took the comment in good spirits, displaying sportsmanship, and expressed his pride as a teammate of Jokic.
