The Denver Nuggets on Wednesday night went up against the LA Clippers in the NBA in-season tournament on Tuesday night and swayed their way to victory 111-108. What caught everyone’s attention Clippers walked straight to their locker rooms without the post-game handshakes. Nikola Jokic who was on his way for the post-game ritual was stunned by Clippers’ reaction to their loss.
Jokic and the Denver Nuggets had an impressive outing despite missing star guard Jamal Murray. The two-time NBA MVP scored 32 points, grabbed 16 rebounds, and dished nine assists. Aaron Gordan also played his part to perfection, scoring 20 points.
For the Clippers, star forward Paul George gave a strong performance and led the team in scoring with 35 points. He had a chance to tie the game with a three-pointer with seconds left on the clock but failed to stick the landing on his shot. The Clippers’ loss meant they remain winless since the arrival of James Harden.
The Clippers’ poor form since the arrival of the former MVP and their exit from the NBA’s in-season tournament was undoubtedly a source of frustration for the players. Their disappointment was evident when they refused to go on with the league’s post-game ritual of a handshake to signify sportsmanship and a competitive spirit. But instead of that players were seen marching straight toward their locker rooms, which surprised Jokic as well as the fans.
NBA fans react to Clippers’ behavior after loss to Nikola Jokic and Nuggets

Here are some of the reactions, including Jokic’s, on social media:
While the Clippers’ palpable frustration at losing five straight games is certainly understandable, the fans did not forgive them for leaving Jokic hanging. The team’s chemistry since landing James Harden in a blockbuster trade from the 76ers has not yielded the results the team would have hoped for. The former MVP has reiterated that the team will improve and figure their playstyle out, which will lead to improved results, however, their current situation remains dire.
