Nikola Jokic was unstoppable this season. The Denver Nuggets star led his team to their first NBA title in franchise history while also winning his first Finals MVP award. Throughout the Nuggets’ historic run, Jokic was a triple-double machine, a scoring machine and a passing wizard, putting up numbers that have rarely been seen in NBA history.
But how does Jokic stack up against the greatest players of all time? According to FS1’s Chris Broussard, Jokic is already a top 20 player in NBA history and a top 10 center of all time. Broussard made this bold claim on First Things First on FS1, ranking Jokic ahead of some of the most decorated and respected players in the league’s history.
“I already have Jokić No. 7, ahead of David Robinson & Patrick Ewing. … I think Jokić is already Top 20 all time. He’s ahead of Charles Barkley, Karl Malone, Kevin Garnett, Dirk, Robinson & CP3.” said Chris Broussard on First things first on FS1
Broussard explained his reasoning for placing Jokic so high on his list on The Odd Couple with Chris Broussard & Rob Parker, where he faced some pushback from his co-host Rob Parker.
“Jokic is undoubtedly a top 10 center of all time, and I’m gonna give some rankings…number 7, Nikola Jokic…my number 1 center of all time is Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, so I’ve got Jokic seventh all time, and I think Olajuwon and Moses Malone, he could catch them…any problems with where I rank The Joker?” Broussard asked Parker.
Parker disagreed with Broussard’s ranking, arguing that it was too premature to put Jokic ahead of some of the legends that he mentioned. “I think it’s just premature, like…this could be it! That’s why you can’t jump to calling him the greatest of all time!” Parker responded.

Is Chris Broussard right about Nikola Jokic?
Broussard’s ranking of Nikola Jokic may seem controversial to some fans who have witnessed the greatness of players like Barkley, Malone, Garnett, and others. However, there is no denying that Jokic has earned his place among the elite players in NBA history.
Jokic has averaged 20.2 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 6.6 assists per game in his career. He has also shot 55.3% from the field, 34.8% from three-point range and 82.9% from the free-throw line. Jokic has also been a clutch performer in the playoffs, averaging 27.5 points, 12.1 rebounds and 7.3 assists per game in his postseason career. He has also recorded 16 triple-doubles in the playoffs.
Jokic’s resume is impressive by any standard. He has won two MVP awards (2020-21 and 2021-22), one Finals MVP award (2022-23), five All-Star selections (2018-19 to 2022-23), five All-NBA selections (2017-18 to 2021-22).
Broussard may not be too far off in his ranking of Jokic. While some may disagree with his placement of Jokic ahead of some of the all-time greats, there is no denying that Jokic has earned his place among the elite players in NBA history.
