‘Casual’ Nikola Jokic unbothered by Victor Wembanyama getting multiple blocks on him: “We won the game”

Nikola Jokic showed his competitiveness in the game against the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday. The star had to fight hard to slow down the star rookie Victor Wembanyama. However, despite the struggles, the former champion had his motives for winning clear.
Considering the season Wembanyama is having, the matchup was certainly not going to be easy for Jokic. The San Antonio Spurs rookie gave a tough time to the former MVP as he blocked the star on several occasions. However, Jokic was not bothered by the blocks as the game ended in a 110-105 victory for the Denver Nuggets.

Victor Wembanyama was amazing against the Nuggets as he nearly achieved a quadruple-double in the game. The center scored 23 points, 15 rebounds, eight assists, and unreal nine blocks. The rookie of the year contender gave his everything in the game and marked his presence on both sides of the court and his stats were nearly as good as the two-time MVP.
Despite Wembanyama’s dominant performance, Nikola Jokic took the Nuggets to victory by scoring 42 points. The Nuggets are holding onto their first seed spot with this win as they are looking to repeat their title as they currently have the best record in the Western Conference.

Wembanyama is currently having one of the best rookie years in the history of the NBA. Being the number one pick in the draft, fans had high expectations for Wemby. However, Jokic predicted the young star’s credibility long before the rookie started showing his potential.
Back in November, when players matched up for the first time, Wembanyama scored a double-double in the game. After the game, in the press conference, the Joker praised the rookie and made a bold prediction about his future in the league. The player was certain about Wemby’s impact on the game in the future.

Wembanyama is proving Jokic’s prediction right. The player has broken some of the most unreal records in his rookie year. He also is already getting considered as one of the best centers in the NBA. The player’s stat line has made him the front-runner to win the Rookie of the Year award.
