The altercation between Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James and Houston Rockets head coach Ime Udoka has caught the attention of the NBA world.
Darvin Ham, the head coach of the Lakers was asked by Ramona Shelburn of ESPN about his thoughts on the verbal spat. Darvin Ham came out in defense of James as was expected. His response was,
There ain't no crying b*tches over here, Saginaw said so
This was obviously about Ime Udoka calling LeBron James the B word during the game held on December 3rd, 2023. James did not take it well and went on to argue with Udoka about not using that word as grown-ups.
The response from Darvin Ham is a hilarious jibe at whatever Udoka said. Ham went the hilarious way as he wants to protect his superstar, but at the same time not be targeted by the league for taking this further.
Was there any bad blood between them?
Ime Udoka has played against LeBron James in the past. But they never had any animosity towards each other. LeBron was dominating the league and Udoka was in his final years of playing in the NBA.
Even when Udoka was the head coach of the Boston Celtics, they did not have any kind of altercation. So, this was a one-off incident. Udoka was incensed by the way LeBron and his Lakers teammates were getting foul calls regularly.
Darvin Ham has tried to put this incident off in the least controversial way possible. He knows the world is watching and any wrong moves here will jeopardize the game in some way.
