“It was nothing against LeBron” Giannis Antetokounmpo finally breaks silence in controversial ‘crown’ celebration against Lakers

Recently, Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo explained about his controversial ‘crown’ celebrations in 2019 against rivals Los Angeles Lakers, which featured NBA legend, LeBron James. Giannis was on fire in that game and hit a career-high fifth 3-pt in the match. In reaction to this, Antetokounmpo decided to celebrate by acting to place a crown on his head.

Many people criticized him and thought this action was against the Lakers star player LeBron James. He finally broke his silence on his celebration and said, “First of all, it was nothing against LeBron,” Giannis said. “That’s my last name. ‘Ante’ means crown.” He also provided a lengthy statement clarifying his clear intentions behind his celebrations, which he kept mum about all this time.

Giannis Antetokounmpo has created a legacy of his own and is expected to be one of the NBA greats along with LeBron James. Giannis is always considered an excellent heir to LeBron’s throne. He will be hoping to take his NBA team, Milwaukee Bucks, to another championship in the upcoming NBA 2022-2023 season.
