Fans watching an NBA game at a basketball arena often get screen time when cameras see them in the background. Many even shift their bodies in the direction of cameras if the chance comes up. But a fan brought out an ingenious way to get himself on live television during the game between the Phoenix Suns and the Milwaukee Bucks. Basketball fans cannot control themselves watching the fan’s creativity. The screengrab of his work has since gone viral.
During the game, the official camera crew was sitting behind the basket trying to get the best angle to capture Bradley Beal taking free throws. An older gentleman sitting near the cameraman decided to take out his mobile phone and switch on the camera. He flipped it to selfie mode which brought his face onto the screen. That is when his face became visible to the millions watching the game on their television sets. This presence of mind from the individual was lauded by fans.
The game between the Milwaukee Bucks and the Phoenix Suns was a highly billed game. Featuring several All-Stars, the game drew a lot of viewers on national television. Little did the viewers and the players know that this gentleman would make himself famous with such little effort.
The game ended with impressive performances from all the superstars on the court. The Phoenix Suns won the game 114-109. This win moves the Suns to 5th in the Western Conference. The Bucks were handed their 3rd loss in four games since Doc Rivers was hired as head coach.
Basketball fans cannot get enough of the creativity from the fan
The creativity brought out by this older fan has lit up the internet. Basketball fans cannot believe that he thought of this move beforehand. Rather it was sheer presence of mind from him to get himself on air. Getting your face to be telecast on live television during a game is unheard of.
So when the screenshots spread on the internet fans could not wait to provide their two cents for the fan. They quickly shared their viewpoints with choice words on social media. Check out some of these reactions below:
While many fans have tried to get themselves on TV, very rarely has anyone seen this level of ingenuity. The fan got what he wanted. But basketball fans also got something new to see.
