Stephen A. Smith, the renowned sports analyst and commentator for ESPN, is an individual known for his outspoken opinions and passionate analysis of various teams and players. In recent times, Smith has been gushing with excitement and optimism for the New York Knicks, a professional basketball team that competes in the NBA.

The Knicks have been experiencing a phenomenal winning streak, having emerged victorious in nine consecutive games, including triumphs over some of the top-ranked teams in the league, such as the Boston Celtics. Stephen A. Smith has been riding the “Knicks hype train,” joining other fervent supporters who share his enthusiasm and faith in the team’s potential for success.

However, in a recent episode of First Take, ahead of the Knicks’ game against the Milwaukee Bucks, Smith was quick to balance his excitement with realism. He acknowledged that despite the Knicks’ impressive performances, they were not superior to the Celtics or the Bucks, two teams that are widely regarded as the top contenders in the league.

Smith astutely identified some of the Knicks’ weaknesses and challenges, while still expressing his admiration for certain players on the team, such as Julius Randle, RJ Barrett, Emmanuel Quickly, and Jalen Brunson. He emphasized that for the Knicks to have a chance of success against the Celtics, they needed to play unselfishly and execute good defense.

In a litmus test of sorts, Smith evaluated the Knicks’ potential performance against Kendrick Perkins’ team, presumably the Bucks. While he conceded that he did not believe the Knicks could beat either the Bucks or the Celtics, he remained confident that they could pose a formidable challenge to both teams if they played to their strengths and minimized their weaknesses.

In conclusion, Stephen A. Smith’s unbridled excitement for the Knicks’ remarkable winning streak is balanced by his objective and pragmatic evaluation of the team’s shortcomings and difficulties. While he remains optimistic about their prospects for success, he recognizes that the Knicks face a daunting challenge if they are to contend with the top teams in the league.

LeBron James throws SHADE at league officials following an impressive win against Knicks

LeBron James did not forget Boston even after a win on Tuesday night. He has never hidden his dislike towards the city of Boston. He has mentioned Boston as his least favorite crowd in the past as well. Now the referees in Boston are not giving him a break.

When asked about the difference between the two games, he said, “This win was decided by the players.” LeBron went on to state the obvious refereeing bias in Boston.

The refereeing play that LeBron James is referring to is a foul by Jayson Tatum in the previous match. With time expiring LeBron went for a layup. Only to have his forearm slapped by Tatum. No call was given and it resulted in an overtime loss for the Lakers.

LeBron has a fair case in terms of refereeing. As seen in recent reports, Boston Celtics are 36-2 since 2020 when Eric Lewis is the referee. The game against the Lakers was one of those games.
