“Don’t know me bruh” Paolo Banchero hit with savage clapback after trash talk on Kings sophomore
Paolo Banchero
Two of the top-five draft picks faced off to kick off the third day of the Las Vegas Summer League. The Paolo Banchero and Keegan Murray show, who were the first and fourth picks, lived up to the hype. At sudden-death double overtime, Banchero’s Orlando Magic defeated the Sacramento Kings 94-92 in the Thomas & Mack Center’s main arena. The Orlando Magic’s 6’10 forward is displaying the skill to be just as talented as LeBron James by making cross-court passes, sinking fadeaways, buzzer-beaters, and game-saving blocks.
The Orlando Magic rookie got the loss in his matchup with Neemias Queta, and yet Banchero still had a rather spectacular Summer League game against the Sacramento Kings. With the Kings behind by six points and needing to bank two triples to force OT, Queta had a massive game for them and this was particularly the case of his most crucial plays in the closing seconds.
Paolo Banchero, the #1 pick, continues to impress
You can still witness what Paolo Banchero, Chet Holmgren, Jabari Smith, Keegan Murray, or Jaden Ivey provides us with their teams in their inaugural seasons even if Summer League is still only halfway through. Each of the top five picks from the 2022 draft class has already led their teams win some significant matches or come close to doing so. Banchero and Murray, two of the most NBA-ready members of the class, squared off on Saturday. For a forward who is 6-foot-10 and 250 pounds, Banchero displayed a variety of offensive abilities, including the capacity to shoot from close range and a distance, a good dribble, and excellent court vision.
After the Magic’s 22-win and 60-loss campaign, Banchero, who averaged 17.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 3.2 assists in 39 starts during his one season at Duke, will try to rejuvenate the team. Even though surprises on draft night are uncommon, Banchero himself was shocked by Orlando’s decision, as several analysts had anticipated sharpshooter Smith to grab the first place. The 6-foot-10 forward, who led the Blue Devils to the Last Four in head coach Mike Krzyzewski’s final season, was selected first overall in the NBA Draft by commissioner Adam Silver, bypassing fellow first-year players Chet Holmgren or Jabari Smith Jr.
At one point during the overtime period of the game between the Magic and Kings, Paolo Banchero taunted Neemia Queta and said he wasn’t meant to hit the triple. However, the highest rated rookie was spurned by the sophomore big man, who pointed out that he doesn’t know anything about him. That’s a significant win for Queta right there as Banchero was unable to answer, therefore he handled the insults very well in the end. The Magic narrowly defeated the Kings 94-92 after two overtime periods. But Queta and the Kings have every right to be impressed with their performance. Sacramento almost won the game despite trailing by as much as 18 points and embarrassing Banchero and Orlando.
In addition to eight rebounds and three assists, Queta ended with 23 points. Paolo Banchero, who also scored 23 points for the Magic, was active all over the court, collecting six rebounds, six assists, four steals, and two blocks. This draft class is so far playing up to the expectations, with all five of the best players doing well. Everyone who watched the NBA in July was treated to a treat, and there is plenty to anticipate from the young players who will soon be on the spotlight.
