“We were cheated,” Patrick Beverley breaks down silence on his HERO moment of showing the ref a pro camera after a missed foul call on LeBron James’ game-winning play

Since the contentious game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics, there have been several discussions among fans, analysts, and players over the final play before overtime in which LeBron James was not called for a foul while driving to seal the victory for the lakers.

Patrick Beverley, who is always the most vociferous, carried a camera onto the court immediately after the play and started showing the referees the footage. He also received a technical foul for it. He first expressed his opinions following the game on his podcast “PatBevPod”.

“We were cheated! I took somebody’s camera… The photo was literally like [LeBron] layup, hand on the arm like a still shot. FOUL!… I’m happy I didn’t drop the camera because like that motherf**ker was kind of heavy.” claimed Beverley.“We were cheated,” We were cheated… Don’t know. Don’t know. It’s like the fourth game, though. Bamboozled, hoodwinked. All of it.”

“I mean, that hurts, that hurts. I mean that was the vibe in the locker room, vibe on the plane. Like, damn, man, that game hurt. Because we won that game, we won. We got the best player in the planet at the free-throw line, with zero point, I don’t know, seven seconds left, shooting two free throws. Like come on.”

Rob Pelinka discusses whether he will consult with LeBron James before the trade deadline

Rob Pelinka, the general manager of the Los Angeles Lakers, has one of the most difficult tasks in the league. He’s in charge of retooling a top-heavy roster through trades. LeBron James is still performing at a high level, and no one knows how long he can keep this up. This only adds to the pressure to improve the roster before the trade deadline.

When asked about LeBron James and Anthony Davis’ inputs in trade discussions Pelinka replied, “I think we’ve said before, our captains LeBron [James] and Anthony Davis are always involved in what Coach Ham is doing, what the front office is doing, and at the same time, I think LeBron said it really well at the press conference the other night when he said my job is to play basketball,”

“The front office’s job is to do their job and to build a roster, and Coach Ham’s job is to coach. I agree that we all have to do our jobs and do them with excellence and all be together, and that’s how we operate and will continue to operate.”
