Patrick Beverley is yet to suit up for the Philadelphia 76ers. However, he is already defending his long-time guy and teammate, James Harden for the dramatic scene he has created. Harden recently ripped apart Philadelphia 76ers’ President of Basketball Operations, Daryl Morey while enjoying his Adidas tour in China. The former MVP has decided never to rep an organization Morey is a part of.
Making a bold statement and calling out Morey as a liar, Harden quoted: “Daryl Morey is a liar and I will never be a part of an organization that he’s a part of. Let me say that again – Daryl Morey is a liar and I will never be a part of an organization that he’s a part of.” These comments from James Harden came after the Sixers’ front office ended trade talks around him and forced him to stay in Philly. Daryl Morey also clowned him for not handing out a long-term maximum extension as promised after he took a pay cut for the team.
Patrick Beverley recently reacted to this controversial drama on his podcast, “Pat Bev Pod.” He sent out a very wise, sensible, and interesting take. Beverley has spent a lot of time with both Daryl Morey and James Harden. The three of them were together at Houston Rockets for years. And, back then Morey was Harden’s front-office guy. He is also the reason Bev is in the league. And, Beverley though isn’t caught up in between both of them. And, he understands the situation on each side.
Patrick Beverley discussing their beef quoted: “I understand both sides. I am not here for the bad James Harden press… If I agree on a handshake and if I was supposed to get a bag. Then I would be waiting on my bag and if I don’t get my bag. You fu**ing right now I feel some type of way.”
Further, Patrick Beverley even went on to side with Daryl Morey. Talking about his job as the GM, he added: “His job is to get the best product for as cheap as possible.” Beverley even called him a mastermind while mentioning how he won’t get fleeced in the deal. Bev has stayed safe with his take as he has solid relations with both guys involved and is even part of the same franchise.
Patrick Beverley defends Philadelphia 76ers’ season
James Harden didn’t hold himself an inch back while ripping apart Daryl Morey. That bold move of his got viral all over the web in minutes. And, it didn’t take long for fans to troll the life out of the Philadelphia 76ers. As the franchise’s front office is always caught up in some unnecessary action and dramatic situations. They have also fumbled many drafts and trade moves. This time after his bold comments the Boston Celtics superfan and founder of Barstool Sports clowned the franchise with a tweet.
Dave Portnoy wrote: “RIP @sixers season. You had a good run?…” Patrick Beverley though was quick to defend his team’s season. Retweeting it he wrote: “Naw chill……….Philly thrives in Adversity.”
The confidence is good but honestly Philadelphia 76ers haven’t been thriving in adversity. The situation has just got worse for them in the past 4 seasons. They are yet to have a deep post-season run and can once again lose their unhappy all-star guard and even Joel Embiid.
