Patrick Beverley has just been traded. Again. The Philadelphia 76ers defensive stalwart is on the move after the Milwaukee Bucks acquired him in a trade last night. The deal to acquire Beverley was completed before the trade deadline. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski revealed that the Bucks sent Cam Payne and a 2027 second-round pick to the 76ers. However, basketball fans are amused by the number of teams Beverly has been on recently. The presence of Damian Lillard on the Bucks adds to the humor.

Patrick Beverley is known for his competitive spirit. The Bucks were ranked as one of the worst teams defensively this season. Bringing Beverley in instantly adds increased perimeter defense. He will also push his teammates to do better in that category. Head coach Doc Rivers has firsthand experience of Beverley’s defensive intensity. Rivers has coached Beverley twice, once with the Los Angeles Clippers and then with the 76ers. His opinion of Beverley brought him back to another reunion with Rivers.

What also added intrigue to the trade is that Beverley had beef with Damian Lillard previously. Now as teammates, it will be seen how the two of them set aside their issues for achieving a common goal. Winning a championship is the only thing on the minds of the Bucks. Beverley brings the one thing the Bucks were lacking all season.

Patrick Beverley can come off the bench and hold the fort for the Bucks. Generally, opposing teams go on an attack mode when the Bucks starters rest. The Bucks bench isn’t great at going toe to toe with opponents. Beverley will be tasked to lock down opponents come playoff time.
