Los Angeles Clippers forward Paul George is widely regarded as one of the best two-way players in the NBA. He has earned multiple All-Defensive Team selections and has guarded some of the league’s top players throughout his career. In a recent episode of ‘Podcast P’, George revealed that the toughest player he has ever had to guard is none other than Carmelo Anthony.

George praised Anthony’s ability to create space and get his shot off, even in tight situations. He explained that Anthony’s quick jab step and explosive first step made him a nightmare to defend, and that he had to play him extra tight to have any chance of containing him.

“Melo was so good, he can get his shot off in a phone booth,” George said. “He didn’t need much space and so with him, I had to play him extra tight… He was so good at creating contact and being physical that I was just going to be in for a long game.”

“Oh it was crazy, he could get his shot off like this (snaps his finger) and I added that to my game, that quick jab and he’ll put that bounce and then step back and you could not guard it. It was unguardable, so that’s why you could never give him space because you’re gonna play on your heels when you guard Melo. The fastest first step I’ve ever seen, for a guy that size, he had the quickest first step, so you had to play tight defense on Melo.”

George didn’t hesitate when asked about the toughest player to defend against, saying “100% Melo”.

Anthony was one of the NBA’s top scorers during his prime, winning the scoring title in 2013 with an average of 28.7 points per game. He currently ranks ninth on the NBA’s all-time scoring list with 28,289 points.

Despite his impressive career accolades, Anthony has struggled to find a home in the NBA in recent years. With little interest from teams around the league, it appears that his time in the NBA may have come to an end.

In addition to revealing the toughest player he’s had to guard, Paul George also shared his opinion on the best signature move in the NBA during his recent appearance on the Podcast P. When asked about the topic, George quickly named his good friend and fellow 2003 draftee LeBron James as the owner of the league’s best signature move.

George singled out James’ look-down three-pointer as the best move in the NBA, praising his friend’s accuracy and consistency from beyond the arc.

“It’s so effective, though. What’s the percentage on it? Like, I’ve never seen him miss it.” George said. He added, “You know he about to shoot when he star at that motherf*****. He knows what time it is.”

James is widely regarded as one of the greatest players in NBA history, having won four championships, four MVP awards, and numerous other accolades throughout his career. His longevity and consistency have been a major factor in his success, and his signature look-down three-pointer is just one example of his impressive skillset.

Overall, Paul George’s recent appearance on ‘Podcast P’ provided some interesting insights into the NBA’s top players and their signature moves. While Carmelo Anthony may be nearing the end of his career, his impact on the league and his peers is still being felt. And while LeBron James may be in his 20th season, his signature moves continue to inspire and amaze fans and players alike.
