“I’d be disappointed if they don’t start the season HOT” Paul George hails Toronto Raptors ahead of start of 2022-23 season
As the season draws closer and closer Paul George is hoping for a splendid 2022-23 NBA season. With an incredibly diverse roster that includes numerous wings from top to bottom, his Los Angeles Clippers are well-positioned to compete. Many are excited since this team almost made the playoffs last year despite injuries to George and star Kawhi Leonard. Another team testing its preparedness is Toronto raptors whose players were seen in the Rico Hines run
This offseason, PG13 has been honing his technique by participating in the Rico Hines open runs in Toronto, because Hines is an assistant coach with the Toronto Raptors, various players have been present for these runs. This includes Pascal Siakam, who has been seen in many clips with PG, Stephen Curry, Trae Young, and others.

Paul George on Toronto Raptors’ last season
After the Hines run concluded, PG13 decided to speak with the media about his active participation. He also commented on how the Toronto Raptors roster was there at every single run the coach made, emphasising they needed to come out strong to start the season. He said “Shoutout Toronto, man. Y’all came and y’all represented,” George said. “It’s crazy, I saw y’all on YouTube the first week, came and played the second week, now it’s Week 3… and y’all still here. I’d be disappointed, coaches, if y’all mf’ers ain’t come out hot to start the season.”
Earlier this month, the Raptors signed Rico Hines, the namesake for the offseason private runs, as an assistant coach. Raptors supporters should be pleased with Hines’ appointment to the team’s development department. Hines’ relationship with All-Star and 2019 Most Improved Player Pascal Siakam, in particular, should be exciting, since Siakam trained with Hines throughout the 2018 summer prior to his award-winning and championship-winning season.
George praised the Raptors’ work ethic, noting that everyone on the roster, from All-Stars Siakam and Fred VanVleet to end-of-the-bench players Malachi Flynn and Christian Koloko, worked hard for three weeks during the renowned private runs. Following their underdog run to the playoffs last season, the Raptors will enter the new season with a hopeful attitude. While they fell in the first round, they advanced further than predicted. With Scottie Barnes’ progress, the squad might secure a top-4 seed in the East.
Rookies in the Toronto Raptors’ Squad
Scottie Barnes’ growth as a second-year forward is of special importance, since Barnes, the Raptors’ do-it-all wing, has the potential to develop into an All-NBA player. Barnes has looked well thus far, despite playing head-to-head with former MVP James Harden. George knows a thing or two about being a successful wing in the league, and his guidance and kind words would undoubtedly be appreciated by a youngster with Barnes’ eagerness to learn and grow.
The Raptors take pleasure in their hard work, and this offseason has demonstrated that, based on what Paul George had to say about their dedication. It’s an intriguing team, and this is a key year for them to show their actual ability on the court. With a strong core of players like Fred VanVleet, Gary Trent Jr., OG Anunoby, Scottie Barnes, and Pascal Siakam, the Raptors appear to be well on their way to being a contender once again.
