Every sportsman has their routine, superstition, and signature style of play that they’re known for. From Steph Curry for his three-point shooting to James Harden for his stepbacks, players from all across the NBA have at least one iconic move. Los Angeles Lakers LeBron James is known for his greatness and remarkable skillset on the court, but the forward also has a few signature moves.
James is one of the most prolific scorers in the game. His versatility enables him to contribute to his team on multiple fronts. After all, his four NBA championships wouldn’t have been possible if he was just another average player. A key aspect of any great player is their cheeky strategy to score against their opponent. A strategy to manipulate their opposite number into thinking about what they might do next. This allows a player to catch their guard off guard and increase their chances of scoring. For James, it’s his iconic ‘look at the ball’ move.
LeBron James would throw his opponent off guard by pretending to be in thought and looking blankly at the ball. As he would appear lost while dribbling, his guarding opponent would loosen up a little. Once his opponent drops his guard, James shoots the ball and makes a three-pointer, taking his opponent by surprise. Despite defenders understanding this strategy over the years, it remains an effective weapon in his arsenal.
One such player who has played multiple times against LeBron spoke about this move. He was asked who he thought had the best signature move on his Podcast P. George said LeBron saying his ‘Look at the ball’ move was very effective. “I’ve never seen him miss it coz when he do it like what the f*** you lookin at?” he said, talking about how other players would react to James.
How is LeBron James shaping up for the Play-In?

The Lakers have been in red-hot form since Jame’s return from injury. While the Lakers forward said that the team was playing some good basketball, the team seemed to be struggling at this mid-season stage. However, with James back on the side, they have been a formidable side that has managed to win games. Undeniably, James looks hungry to reclaim the title once again.
The Lakers take on the Minnesota Timberwolves in their Play-in game. A clash between the seventh and eighth place in the Western Conference for the seventh seed. If the Lakers win that game, they will play the Memphis Grizzlies in a seven-game series. If they lose, they will have to play an eliminator to claim the eighth seed.
While LeBron James has been listed as a ‘Game Time Decision’ (GTD) in injury reports, he has played almost every game as a regular starter. His fitness is undoubtedly of key importance to the team’s chances in the playoffs. Although the coaching staff will be cautious regarding James’ injury concerns, he looks fine on the floor. Ahead of the Play-In game, the superstar has looked in sync and in a beautiful flow while scoring points in large numbers for his side. And fans would expect nothing less from the NBA veteran in the games to follow.
