Kawhi Leonard is renowned for his stoic and composed demeanor. Despite this, occasional glimpses of his more relaxed side have shown a personable aspect of his personality.
In a recent podcast, LA Clippers’ Paul George and Terance Mann shared a surprising revelation about their teammate Leonard. Contrary to his serious reputation, they described Leonard as the funniest guy on the team. The duo recalled a practice where players who shot airballs had to run the length of the court as a consequence, a rule implemented by Coach Brian Shaw to emphasize that “Nobody is above the law.” Hilariously, George and Mann highlighted that this rule even applied to Kawhi.
George quoted Kawhi’s deadpan response to the custom of running the court after an airball: “I’m not running.” Coach Shaw firmly reiterated, “Nobody is above the law.” Undeterred, Leonard humorously retorted, “It’s basketball; I’m going to airball again. You are not about to coach me or teach me that air balling is not good. It’s part of the game.”
George emphasized that what made the moment even funnier was Kawhi’s unintended humor.
