Paul George names NBA legends OVERLOOKED from the GOAT conversation, includes Stephen Curry, Tim Duncan

The NBA has always been a league where greatness is measured by championships, MVPs, and individual dominance. But while some players are constantly in the conversation for the greatest of all time (GOAT), others are often overlooked or underrated. That’s how Paul George feels. The Los Angeles Clippers star recently shared his thoughts on who are some of the NBA legends that he thinks don’t get enough credit or recognition in the GOAT debate.

One of the players that George thinks deserves more respect is Tim Duncan, the former San Antonio Spurs power forward who won five titles in his 19-year career.

“Tim Duncan, absolutely,” George said on his podcast, Podcast P with Paul George. “His longevity with one team goes hand-in-hand with what Kobe did. Whether they’re they are the goat or not at least put them in the conversation, their resume is just as good as MJ’s. Tim Duncan’s resume is just as good as Kobe’s, they got resumes that can back up this GOAT conversation.”

George also showed love to Stephen Curry, the current Golden State Warriors point guard, “He’s got sh*t on his resume that he can add to that GOAT conversation,” George said. “He’ll go down as the best shooter in league history. Nobody is catching his three-pointers made. You’re a GOAT to me if the league changed because of you. With Steph, the threes being shot, the range people shooting threes, Steph transcended the game.”

Another player that George thinks deserves more recognition is Wilt Chamberlain, the former center who played for three teams in his 14-year career. Chamberlain won two titles, four MVPs, one Finals MVP, and seven scoring titles. He is widely considered one of the most dominant and unstoppable players ever. “Wilt Chamberlain absolutely,” George said. “He was doing things that nobody else could do at his time. He was ahead of his time.”

George also gave props to Bill Russell, the former Boston Celtics center who won 11 titles in his 13-year career. Russell also won five MVPs and made 12 All-Star teams. He is widely considered one of the best defenders and winners ever and one of the most influential players for his social activism and leadership. “Bill Russell,” George said. “Into that conversation on what he was on and off the court. For the culture for the league.”

George’s picks for the underappreciated GOATs are certainly valid and worthy of consideration. While they may not be universally accepted as the GOAT by everyone, they have certainly left their mark on NBA history and deserve respect and recognition for their achievements and contributions to the game.
