Mikal Bridges has been turning heads in the 2023 NBA playoffs with his stellar performance for the Brooklyn Nets. The guard-forward has been scoring at a high clip, averaging 28.7 points per game in the first round against the Philadelphia 76ers. He has also been tasked with guarding some of the best players in the league, such as James Harden and Joel Embiid.

One of Bridges’ admirers is Paul George, the star forward of the Los Angeles Clippers. George, who hosts a podcast called “Podcast P with Paul George,” dedicated an episode to praise Bridges as the most underrated player in the postseason despite his team being down 2-0 to the 76ers. George said that Bridges has a rare opportunity to become a star in front of a large audience in Brooklyn.

He is definitely underrated in this playoff race this year. The stage is set for him to become a star, this is where you become a star. You have to guard and match up against James Harden, and play against MVP frontrunner Joel Embiid.” George said.

George also revealed that he was surprised by Bridges’ scoring ability, as he had previously seen him as a role player in Phoenix. He said that he did not know that Bridges could be a go-to guy who could put up 30s and 40s in some games. He added that Bridges makes his team better with his versatility and defense.

He’s playing in a huge market in Brooklyn, he has the chance to be a star right now. The way he’s been playing to close the year out, I didn’t know he could be a go-to guy. He’s putting up 30s and 40s, I had no idea because he was in Phoenix, I have always seen him as he’ll be a great role player. He makes the team better.” George said.
