“Worst set than Lakers fans” Phoenix Suns boo their own players as Luka Doncic, Mavs forced them to exit arena at halftime

Phoenix Suns were the team that emerged during the 2021-22 regular season and looked to be dominating the western conference. Having secured the 1st seed in the western conference and becoming the only team in the league to achieve more than 60 wins in the season, Phoenix looked to come back into the playoffs stronger than ever. Many analysts had considered them to the one’s winning the NBA Finals this season. But things did not go the way as the Suns would have desired or even remotely anticipated.

After Luka and the Dallas Mavericks forced a Game 7 in their home-court, the Suns were looking to secure the ticket to Western Conference finals at home, Phoenix. All odds seemed to be in favour of Suns. They were one their home court and they won the Western Conference Finals last season. Despite being the one’s with the upperhand, Phoenix blew it out.

The Suns seemed set and en route to face the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference Finals. But that was until the two sides actually took to the court in Footprint Center. Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks dominated the game from the very beginning. Dallas took a 27-17 lead after the first quarter with Doncic nearly at a double-double in the process. It was followed up with a 30-10 2nd quarter, which saw the game score at 57-27 at halftime. Suns broke the record for the lowest score at half-time during a playoffs series. It is a record no team will wish to have, especially the Suns who are the defending Champions of Western Conference Finals.

Luka after his magic in the first half, had matched the Suns’ entire point total going into half-time. Dallas reserve guard Spencer Dinwiddie dropped 21 points.

For the Suns, it was nothing short of humiliation. The two superstars of the team, Devin Booker and Chris Paul combined for a total of 21 points.

As for the fans, who paid big bucks to root for their team and hopefully watch them earn a trip to the NBA finals were, quite justifiably, not happy. At halftime when Phoenix were done by 30 points, the arena started booing their won players as Suns players rushed to the locker room while Luka and Dallas celebrated their incredible game.

It would be wrong to disagree with the Suns fans for booing. Suns put up one of the worst half-tine performances in NBA history. The game was basically secured for the Mavs. All that Luka and his crew had to do was to stay healthy and keep hold of the lead, which they successfully did too.
