“We need leaders on our squad” Phoenix Suns show interest in swapping for former Sixth Man of the Year
The Phoenix Suns have been the strongest and most consistent team in the Western Conference lately, bagging the top spot on the division’s chart. They had a taste of the NBA Title back in 2021 before losing to the actual champions of that season. They are not done yet.
A report from Jake Fischer said,“In recent transaction cycles, Phoenix has explored adding greater ball-handling depth behind Chris Paul and Devin Booker. And Jordan Clarkson, one of the many veterans thought to be available in Utah, is one dynamic guard the Suns have inquired about landing in exchange for Crowder, sources said.”
The team has gotten several offers for veteran Jae Crowder but they have their sights set on the Utah Jazz guard. Jordan Clarkson won the Sixth Man of the Year Award in 2021, the same year the Phoenix Suns appeared in the Finals.
Phoenix Suns looking forward to Jordan Clarkson helping them win the title
Clarkson has been a very productive player for the Utah Jazz in recent years especially with his ability to run the offense if given the duty to do so. Last season, he averaged 16 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game shooting 41.9% from the field. The guard also happens to be a good three-point shooter which would fit in well with the Suns roster.
The franchise will have to add another asset to the trade package due to Clarkson’s high value. Although this will boost the Suns’ chance by a mile as they search for another opportunity to win the NBA Title.
Jae Crowder and the Phoenix Suns mutually agreed to part ways as the player was expecting to cop himself a contract extension. However, the franchise had other plans. Crowder is a 3&D specialist who averaged 9.4 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game shooting 39.9% from the field.
