LeBron James is widely regarded as the Goat by a huge part of the NBA fraternity. Now 38, the LA Lakers superstar is still going strong after an illustrious career that has seen him win 4 championships, 4 Finals MVPs, and 4 Regular Season MVP titles.

While James was a prodigy right from the beginning in multiple sports, it seems as though his parents did all they could, in order to push him towards basketball. According to a Twitter post by Cute Black Babies, James was gifted an indoor basketball hoop and a basketball on his third Christmas.

The obviously heartwarming image brought forth a flurry of reactions from fans, with most making jokes about the kind of future LeBron was always destined to have, having established himself as an icon for the Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat, and the LA Lakers. Now the highest scorer in the NBA’s history, LeBron, according to a range of users, was simply ready for the kind of career he was going to have.

One fan in particular, joked about how LeBron’s mom may have manifested his destiny:

LeBron James has made a strong case to be proclaimed as the true GOAT

There is little doubt that there are quite a few people still who do not believe James deserves the kind of attention that he gets. The likes of Skip Bayless and Stephen A. Smith have long talked about players such as Michael Jordan and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar producing things that were more impressive than anything LeBron has.

However, as far as longevity is concerned, James seems to have trumped everyone in the list. The Lakers, Cavaliers, and Miami Heat icon has been the most complete player the league has ever seen and has always identified himself as a playmaker first.

At the age of 38, he has continued to lead the Lakers’ charge and won them the inaugural In-Season championship as well. While nobody will be considering them title contenders for the time being, LeBron’s impact has been acknowledged by even his traditional haters.

The 38-year-old might still be a ring or two away from racking up as many rings as some of his contemporaries. However, he has made a comparable impact on and off the court and surely deserves to be recognized as of the very best.
