Jimmy Butler was a surprise emergence almost nobody saw coming their way after he joined the Miami Heat. During the 2019-2020 season when the league shifted its games into the bubble, he helped his team get to the NBA Finals which was his very first year on the roster. He put up spectacular performances against LeBron James and Los Angeles Lakers making a push to Game 6.

The Heat would remain among the middle order of the Eastern Conference until this year as they concluded their regular season at the top with 53 wins and 29 losses. Their defensive style of playing has been one of the biggest strong points in winning games and the addition of Kyle Lowry and the return of Victor Oladipo has only proven the best outcomes. Last night, Miami became the first team to move past the second round of the post-season beating the Philadelphia 76ers 4-2 in the series.

The series almost seemed like the Sixers were going to make a comeback after Joel Embiid as well as James Harden’s Games 3 and 4 dominance. The following game showcased a lack of effort from the Sixers’ side which ultimately cost them a title shot this season. The Heat defeated the 76ers, 99-90 to close out the series.

PJ Tucker has been an integral part of the Miami Heat roster, especially for his defensive skill and ability to shoot the three. Following the series victory, he opened up about his thoughts on his teammate Jimmy Butler. “I didn’t know how good Jimmy was until I got here. I thought he was a good player… I didn’t think he was that good,” said the Veteran.

“He’s shown me more that I had ever thought. He’s never scared of the moment and that in itself is a talent. I’ve played with guys that are really good, but in those big moments, they shy away and they don’t want it. He was every part of every moment. The fearlessness, he puts that into a lot of different guys on our team, he gives them confidence in a weird way… but it works. For me being a veteran and playing against him for years to now beside him… that chemistry we’ve built together… its special.”
