The LA Lakers have had trouble over the past two seasons as well as this one. The management took a number of actions that many consider dubious after winning the bubble championship in 2020, including allowing Alex Caruso to depart. There were concerns about Russell Westbrook’s compatibility with LeBron James and Anthony Davis when the team signed him.

Despite this, the two didn’t spend much time playing together because James and Davis were out for a while due to injury. Westbrook was therefore mostly to blame for the 33-49 record from the previous campaign. In the unavailability of the team’s other two stars, his erratic play was highlighted.

With a recovered Big Three and a new coach in Darvin Ham, it appeared as though the team was ready for a tour of retribution this year. Sadly, they started the season with five straight losses before starting to improve last month. The 8-2 run they enjoyed in November, though, is a fading memory because Davis has since sustained an injury.

As a result, the Lakers organization, particularly owner Jeanie Buss and general manager Rob Pelinka, have received a great deal of criticism. This week, renowned analyst Colin Cowherd discussed the topic and attacked Buss’ personal wealth. He said, “Robert Sarver was forced to sell the Phoenix Suns. Do you know who now is the poorest NBA owner? Take a second. Jeanie Buss, Lakers, the poorest NBA owner.”

After sustaining a right foot injury last Friday against the Denver Nuggets, Anthony Davis will be sidelined for roughly a month. According to the most recent speculations, the LA Lakers have been pushed to sign a four-time All-Star as a stand-in for Davis.

Eric Pincus claims that the Lakers have a number of options to make up for Davis’s absence. They may make a little trade to get a useful big guy. They might potentially remain in place and count on LeBron James to support them for the upcoming month.

There is a less expensive option, according to Pincus, for the Lakers. He proposed signing four-time All-Star and free agent DeMarcus Cousins. In 31 games with the Nuggets, Cousins averaged 8.9 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.7 assists.

One of the top NBA big guys in the past was DeMarcus Cousins. However, he was deprived of his peak years by two significant setbacks. He was playing with Anthony Davis for the New Orleans Pelicans before he tore his Achilles tendon in January 2018.
