The Los Angeles Lakers last won a championship in 2020. One of the key contributors to that championship was former Boston Celtics star Rajon Rondo. He had a career that defined him as one of the highest IQ players in the league. Now, Rondo has hit the deck. Shocking news filtered in today to reveal Rondo’s latest status in life.

The former Laker was arrested on Sunday afternoon in Jackson County, Indiana. Reports state that Rondo was stopped for a traffic violation. The police state trooper smelled marijuana when Rondo rolled down the window. This led to a search. The trooper found a gun and further marijuana in the car. The trooper learned from the database that Rondo cannot have a gun on him due to a no-contact order taken out against him in court. Rondo was taken to Jackson County jail after his arrest.

Rondo did not have to wait in jail for long as he posted bond immediately. Court records recovered by WDRB do not reveal any mug shots. The charges issued against Rondo are all misdemeanors. Rondo has to wait for a date to face the court. This incident has shocked basketball fans across the world.

Rajon Rondo has had another run with the law before. After throwing a fit of rage and damaging things in and outside the house, a Louisville woman asked the court to grant her emergency protection. The former New Orleans Pelicans star had apparently threatened the woman with a gun at her house. The court had ordered Rondo to surrender all his firearms at that time. Hence, this arrest is a direct violation of that order.

NBA players are known to be highly paid. A career in the league should set them up for life. Many players use that money earned to invest in further businesses to take care of themselves for life. For Rajon Rondo, one of the most intelligent players, it was bizarre to get arrested for possession of drugs. More important was the possession of firearms, which he was explicitly forbidden from carrying.
