NBA legend and Hall of Famer, Shaquille O’Neal was recently tempted to play in the Big 3 league. Founded by famous rap artist, Ice Cube, the Big 3 league consists of former NBA players and international players as well. The league has 12 teams, with five players in each. This league has caught a lot of attention, as they bring in retired veterans to play professionally once again.

O’Neal, the most dominant big man in the history of the league might make his appearance in this 3v3 league. Ice Cube even has a contract ready for the Diesel, wanting him to prepare for the league. Shaq, who stands at 7 foot 1, and weighs over 325 pounds, will be a beast to face once he gets into the league.

O’Neal is coming off hip surgery and hasn’t played the game for a very long time. If the Diesel does decide to get back, it will be interesting to see one of the all-time greats get back in action. The league has had players like Joe Johnson, who was also the 2023 MVP.

The Big 3 League will see a spike in audience if Shaquille O’Neal announces his debut

O’Neal has a huge fan following, and older NBA fans would love to see Shaquille O’Neal back in action. The league tips off on June 15. The Diesel has about three months to get in shape and compete. So far, Shaq has not replied to Ice Cube or announced his debut in the Big 3 league. His name in this league would attract more audience, which may be one of the reasons why Ice Cube is trying to recruit the beast himself. Mario Chalmers even offered Shaq a spot on his team with him and Michael Beasley.

Following the NBA Finals, O’Neal will have his offseason from work as well. Shaq has sufficient time to get back on the court. Having been away from the game for more than a decade, he might find it strange to play among other retired players. Regardless, fans would only want to see Shaq suit up for getting back on the court after years. He last played for the Boston Celtics, where he found himself wearing out, which eventually led to his retirement.
