Reggie Miller is no stranger to making bold statements, but his latest take on the Dan Patrick show might be his most controversial yet. The Hall of Fame shooter turned Sports analyst compared two of the greatest players in NBA history: Stephen Curry and Michael Jordan.
And he gave the edge to Curry, who he said has revolutionized the game more than Jordan and has had a more global impact on the sport. Miller’s comments came after he witnessed Curry’s historic 50-point performance in Game 7 of the Western Conference Playoffs Round 1 against the Sacramento Kings on Monday night.
“You’ve gotta look at the historical context. Michael did everything in the air – Air Jordan. He revolutionized the game, he changed the way we thought. Stephen Curry has taken shooting and the art form of it and moving without the ball to a different level,” Miller said on the Dan Patrick show.
“I will say Stephen Curry (has revolutionized the game more) because he’s playing in the age of social media. There wasn’t that when Michael Jordan played. I think Stephen Curry has had a more global impact on the game. I think Michael Jordan is more famous for the shoes! People forget how great he was,” Miller added.
Miller’s claims are sure to spark some heated debates among basketball fans and analysts alike, as Jordan is widely regarded as the greatest player of all time.

Reggie Miller sparks controversy with his comments on Curry and Jordan
Jordan dominated the league with his scoring, defense, and clutch play, and also transcended the sport with his global popularity and cultural influence. Jordan’s shoes, apparel, and brand are still among the most sought-after and profitable in the world, even after his retirement from basketball.
Curry, on the other hand, has undoubtedly changed the way teams and players approach the game with his unprecedented range, accuracy, and creativity from beyond the arc. He has earned the admiration of fans and peers alike with his dazzling skills, magnetic personality, and humble attitude.
But to claim that he has surpassed Jordan in terms of impact or that Jordan is more known for his sneakers than his basketball achievements is a bold statement that many would challenge. Miller’s remarks could be interpreted as a compliment to Curry’s greatness or as a jab at Jordan’s legacy.
Either way, they will ignite some fiery discussions among basketball enthusiasts and experts alike.
