Reports: Brittney Griner potentially on the verge of being trapped in Russia in a Labor Camp

Brittney Griner has been a regular name in the NBA and WNBA headlines. But she has not stepped on a basketball court for months. She was drafted first overall in the league and has the potential to do it all alone. As just in span of some years her basketball career is stacked up with a unbelievable godlike resume. Brittney Griner is one of the most prominent and dominating forces the women’s league has ever seen. She is great on both the ends but her defensive skillset just has some edges overs the offensive one. But unfortunately, everything for her is at rest since she was arrested in Russia months ago at an airport and was accused for smuggling drugs.
Brittney Griner has been held in a Moscow Jail for nearly 100 days and yet there is no update on her release out yet. Smuggling Drugs is a serious crime especially on the international soil and can get you booked for years. The Biden Government has officially said that she has been “wrongfully detained” that means they believe the accusations are fabricated as legal expert Aron Solomon told The Sun. She has also been quoted as a “political prisoner” by many.
The WNBA in support for their legendary player is putting up the initials BG on all of their courts to spread awareness about the injustice being done. “She’s a hostage, a political detainee, whatever you want to call it,” quoted Solomon, who is Esquire’s Digital Chief Legal Analyst. The states aren’t though still officially acknowledging it but many legal experts are sticking with it. Justice for Brittney Griner is still low and slow as there is not enough media coverage for it even though she has aced out her on-going career on the basketball court.

How long could be Brittney Griner’s stay in Russia
Solomon knowing the situation around Brittney Griner from a close view quoted: “Russia knew they were going into Ukraine, and they needed political prisoners. They looked around for the highest-profile athlete, and that was Griner and they grabbed her at the airport…I predict the May 19 hearing won’t happen…Russia does not function under rule of law as the US does. This has become a political issue now far more than a legal issue…At any point, Russia can speed up the (legal) process to get a guilty verdict and send her to a labor camp. And the longer Russia keeps her, the higher the stakes get.”
It’s high time for the US Government to get their athlete Britney Griner out of Russia or else as quoted by the expert she may be stuck there for years. At the end it may end as a deal where everything depends up on what United States of America is willing to give up. Many believe Russia can demand US to loosen the constricting economic sanctions.
