Ric Bucher lays out Steph Curry’s Warriors’ possibility of a good playoff run citing LeBron James’ Lakers’ example
The Golden State Warriors' uphill battle to defend their NBA championship

The Golden State Warriors’ quest to defend their NBA championship has yet to go according to plan. The team, led by the trio of Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green, has been plagued by injuries and struggles on the road. After a scuffle between Green and teammate Jordan Poole, there were concerns about the future of the Warriors’ Big Three.
However, the team appeared to put the incident behind them, and Poole even received a contract extension. But their troubles continued, with Curry missing time due to injury and the team struggling to find consistency on the road. Currently sitting in sixth place in the Western Conference, many are wondering if the Warriors will fall further in the standings.
“They are not officially dead. They might be on life support or might be in a coma, but if your Lakers have a chance of making some noise,” Ric Bucher said.“the same thing can be said about the Golden State Warriors, because the Lakers are pretty much a .500 team and have told us that they were that or worse for the better part of the season.”
Ric Bucher added:
“I like the Lakers’ chances more than I like the Golden State Warriors’, but the reason that everybody’s hanging on to the ‘Warriors could still be a threat’ in spite of what we’ve seen is because we saw the exact same thing last year from January on. They were a .500 team. The distinction is they demonstrated early on what they were capable of.”
Fans will watch closely to see if the Warriors can regain their championship form and overcome the challenges they’ve faced this season. Anything can happen in the highly competitive Western Conference, with the playoffs just around the corner.

The Golden State Warriors are facing a critical stretch of games as they try to secure a spot in the NBA playoffs. With just 15 games remaining on their schedule, the Warriors are tied with the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Dallas Mavericks for sixth place in the Western Conference with a 34-33 record. However, they must be their best to fight off the play-in tournament.
According to Tankathon’s strength-of-schedule calculator, the Warriors have one of the most demanding remaining schedules in the league. In the upcoming weeks, the Golden State Warriors will be up against some of the top-performing teams in the NBA, which include the Sacramento Kings, Denver Nuggets, and Milwaukee Bucks.
This weekend, the Warriors will face a tough test against the Bucks, who have the best record in the league. Next week, they will take on the Phoenix Suns, LA Clippers, Atlanta Hawks, and Memphis Grizzlies. After suffering a 131-110 loss to the Grizzlies on Thursday, the Warriors will be looking to bounce back and snap their three-game losing streak.
Despite the challenging schedule, the Warriors have recently demonstrated that they are a force to be reckoned with when their key players are fit and available. With star players like Stephen Curry and Draymond Green leading the way, the Warriors will be looking to finish strong and secure their spot in the playoffs. It promises to be an exciting end to the season for the Warriors and their fans.
