“Jordan brand is still destroying all the current players ” Rob Parker says he is tired of Draymond Green acting like him

Chris Broussard and Rob Parker fires shots at Draymond Green for defending Kevin Durant

Is there a more polarizing player in the NBA than Draymond Green ? none come to mind. The Warriors Centre is one of the most vocal people, on court and off it too, with his podcast always making the headlines due to some controversial takes by him. This time it was Chris Broussard and Rob Parker on the ‘Odd Couple’ podcast, as they had had enough of Draymond Green speaking whatever he wants to without someone sparring back at him.

There was a lot of speculation about where Draymond Green and Golden State will be at the end of this NBA season, after suffering their worst couple of years in recent history. People forget that ‘Warriors’ is their name, it is a part of who they are, winning is in their DNA. Poole found his groove, Klay made a comeback after being out for 2.5 years, and Curry, well he being the Chef has deep fried all his opponents. After having gone through so much, Golden State have reinstated their position back among the elite, with Stephen Curry as their ‘Achilles’, and Draymond is loving it.

He would be backpedaling and fumbling and bumbling ” – Chris Broussard and Rob Parker rip into Draymond green and his ‘New Media’ methods

The ‘New Media’, as Draymond calls it , is much more efficient way of presenting sporting opinions, which include open discussions and healthy comparisons rather than heated debates and people going off on each other. The outspoken Warriors Centre has made himself very vocal and involved in the recent conundrum surrounding Kevin Durant and his trade away from Brooklyn nets after just 3 seasons there.

Despite talk of KD leaving the team when things get tough, Green does not see anything wrong with his choice. Green compared Durant’s request for a trade to athletes acting in their own best interests as businessmen, and how he has earned that place in life where he can decide what he wants to do. Draymond also stated how people today just cannot believe the fact that athletes can be Businessman too, this didn’t sit too well with sports media vets Chris Broussard and Rob Parker of “The Odd Couple” on Fox Sports Radio. Parker was very vocal in his response, saying he and Broussard would destroy Green in a sports debate.

Draymond is just talking. This is my issue, Chris, is there’s nobody to push back on him. There’s nobody to challenge him. He’s just talking, and it’s fine, but it has no context. It doesn’t make any sense. We could – in two seconds, Chris – the both of us would undress Draymond Green. I’m dead serious. In two seconds, and he would be backpedaling and fumbling and bumbling and throwing back the shots off the side of the backboard or air balls completely. I mean, he would just be reduced to that. Stop it, Draymond.” Parker ranted, to which Chris replied.

“This is what I’m tired of. Draymond acting like he and this generation of athletes are just inventing all this stuff. We’re businessmen today, Michael Jordan wasn’t a businessman? He owns a basketball team. Jordan brand is still destroying all the current players in terms of their shoe sales and their merchandise sales.” Chris explained, Rob Parker jumped in with the name of Magic Johnson, Chris brought out the stats, saying –

“Here’s how much of a business Magic Johnson was. Magic Johnson made about $40 million playing in the NBA. He’s now worth about $700 million. He went from making about 40 million to now being worth $6-700 million. Not through basketball, through business.” This is quite a strong take from Parker, and it remains to be seen if Green will respond to this. He is never afraid to talk back when someone tries to go at him, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see that happen. Whatever it may be, it’s evident that Green has rattled a lot of the old heads in the media.
