Having won 6 NBA Championships, Michael Jordan led Chicago Bulls team is regarded as one of the greatest dynasties of all-time. With Jordan leading the pact alongside stars like Scottie Pippen and Dennis Rodman, the Bulls managed to dominate majority of teams in the league. However, there were a couple of teams who managed to out-play the superior-Bulls- Deteroit Pistons and Houston Rockets.
On one hand where the Pistons had Isiah Thomas, Rockets had the mighty Hakeem Olajuwon. On the same note, one particular Houston Rockets legend went onto bash Michael Jordan and even went onto accuse him of cheating. Fans would be aware that Vernon Maxwell was an integral part of the Houston roster and even locked horns against the loaded Bulls led by Michael Jordan several times.
Vernon Maxwell accuses Michael Jordan of cheating
Maxwell said, “You know, Michael Jordan like to do all that, help, cheating, and all that sh*t. I’m gonna be cutting his damn head open too with the damn threes. You better stay out here buddy.”
Now comes the interesting part, Maxwell has made similar comments regarding Michael Jordan in the past as well. The former Rockets star once famously talked about how he isn’t intimated while playing against the greatest ever Chicago Bulls player, unlike others.
Maxwell said, “I loved going up against Mike. He was the best. There is no disputing that. But unlike most people who went up against him, I wasn’t going to allow myself to be intimidated.” What went onto boost the confidence of this player what that while Jordan temporarily retired from the league, Maxwell and the Rockets lifted the NBA title for the 1993-94 season.
That being said, Michael Jordan might be one of the most hard-working stars back in the 90s, yet there is no doubt that he pressurized his own teammates to reach their A-Game at all costs. Yet for a player who fails to lose at anything, Jordan came back to answer all critics and claims by ramping several titles in the latter years with the same unit.
