It seemed like the Dallas Mavericks might have put the nail in the coffin for Utah jazz when returning Luka Doncic drained a clutch 3-pointer in the final minute to give the away side a 4-point lead. But with Norman Powell missing two game-defying free throws, the home team was in with a chance and up stepped former DPOY, Rudy Gobert to settle the nerves.

With handful of seconds left on the clock, Donovan Mitchell delivered a nasty alley-oop to Rudy Gobert, who significantly banked a dunk to give his side a 1-point lead. With Luka Doncic being double man-market, Spencer Dinwiddie was given the last second attempt to try the game-winning shot. Wherein he failed miserably. After which Jazz stamped their authority back into this first round series and the Frenchman surely did not hold back in the immediate interview.

What was opinionated by Rudy Gobert?

“Man, f–k the talk,” Gobert said on live television. “We’re trying to be the best team we can be. We try to enjoy the moment and whatever happens, happens.”

Talking about the individual performance of the Frenchman, Rudy Gobert was a beast in this one, logging a 17-point, 15-rebound double-double. The three-time All-Star amassed no less than 10 boards on the offensive end as he made sure to stamp his mark in this pivotal contest.

Apart from Gobert, Donovan Mitchell and Jordan Clarkson were simply sensational on the offensive end as they scored 23 and 25 points against their names respectively. On the other hand, Mavericks had their marquee scorer back in game 4, Luka Doncic had game-high 30 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists yet his team came just 1-point short in sending Jazz to the edge of the cliff.

Now with series tied at 2-2, it will be interesting to see who among Mavs and Jazz comes out on top as the action moves to Dallas for Game 5. Will be Gobert continuing with his NSFW slander? Or will Doncic finally leave his mark in this first-round series?
