Rudy Gobert and his punch against Kyle Anderson
Things got heated between Minnesota Timberwolves teammates Rudy Gobert and Kyle Anderson during their team’s “must-win” against the New Orleans Pelicans. During a timeout in the second quarter, the duo got into a verbal spat which quickly turned into a physical altercation after Anderson called Gobert a b***h, prompting the center to throw a jab at his teammate. Gobert was sent home after the fight, but his troubles did not end there. He faced the consequences of his actions on social media.
Twitteratis ridiculed the power in Gobert’s punch, with some calling it “the weakest punch” they ever saw. Replying to the video of Gobert punching Anderson, Twitteratis fired shots at Gobert for “hitting like a b***h.” Some even brought back the time when Draymond Green beat his teammate, comparing both punches.
As seen in the video, Anderson was unaffected by the punch to his chest as the player seemed to have taken no damage. Twitteratis took more offense to the bad punch than the fact that Gobert punched his teammate.
The altercation and Gobert’s subsequent exit did not affect the Timberwolves, who won the game 113-108 and secured the eighth seed in the Western Conference standings.

Let us take a closer look at the fan reactions and brutal trolling to this “weak” Rudy Gobert punch. A punch that took Twitter and NBA World by storm for clearly the wrong reasons. This time, it isn’t a mix of reactions but a unanimous vote calling Rudy’s punch “weak”. Some even call Draymond the “GOAT” for his punch against fellow teammate Jordan Poole.
Fans got the best of Gobert as the player could neither land a punch nor be on the court to help his team in a crucial game ahead of the play-in tournament. What the fans now await is disciplinary action against Gobert at the most important time in the league for the team. It will be interesting to watch how the Timberwolves navigate through this situation.
