Sacramento Kings G League affiliate team assistant head coach accused by ex-employee of sexual harassment and forceful advancements

The Sacrament Kings have been in an awful lot of trouble in general regarding their performance. But nobody would have seen this come into light especially because of the strict equality policies put forth by the NBA itself. It turns out that nobody is safe even under if they were in a well reputed and socially progressive company.
Recently, a former employee of the Kings organisation came forth and spoke about his wrongful dismissal. Sydney Haydel, the plaintiff was a former Director of Operations of the franchise’s G League affiliate prior to which she was the team’s player development coordinator. She issued a lawsuit for wrongful termination, sexual harassment, and several other claims.
Stockton Kings assistant head coach accused for sexual harassment
The name brought into the mix was the Sacramento Kings affiliate’s former assistant head coach Akachi Okugo. It was said that the coach had “strongly encouraged” multiple female employees of the organisation to join him during a party that took place last year at the Las Vegas NBA Summer League. Sydney claimed that he forced himself upon her during a party and made unwanted advances towards her.
“Okugo made numerous unwelcome advances towards Plaintiff and pressed his body against hers while asking her if she had a boyfriend. Stockton Kings Head Coach Bobby Jackson and Assistant Coach Jimmy Alapag witnessed Okugo’s harassment of Plaintiff, but they did nothing to address it or try to stop it. To Plaintiffs horror, Okugo put his fingers in Haydel’s mouth,” the lawsuit claimed.
The Kings organisation addresses accusations laid against Okugo
As a response to the claims, the Sacramento Kings responded saying, “The accusations of wrongdoing are false and will be addressed through the appropriate legal process.” Sydney claimed that she raised a complaint to the general manager at that time but was released from her job without a solution to the problem.
This will definitely have a terrible remark on the Kings reputation especially during this day and age. The team is also equally in trouble and several failed attempts at rebuilding their roster around De’Aaron Fox and former All-Star Domantas Sabonis the team requires a lot more work and shifting around within the roster to factor into winning more games.
