Scottie Pippen is undoubtedly one of the best players to ever touch a basketball. But unfortunately, he has failed to be a great family man. The world knows about his disappointing relationships with his exes Karen McCollum, Sonya Roby, Yvette Deleone, and Larsa Pippen. But not many know about Scottie Pippen’s abandoned daughter, Taylor Pippen.
Scottie Pippen is also a father of a pair of twins, he has with model Sonya Roby. They were born on July 20, 1994, and named Taylor and Tyler at Mercy Hospital in Chicago. But unfortunately, Scottie Pippen never accepted them and Tyler even passed away just nine days old. Scottie Pippen even denied paternity initially. But after a lawsuit and a year of court proceedings and a DNA test, he admitted to being the father of Tyler and Taylor Pippen.
Scottie Pippen then agreed to do the needful for his kid and even asked for a visitation agreement from the court. As Sonya Roby was given sole custody of Taylor Pippen. But he never changed and in early 2016 in an interview with Taylor Pippen, she revealed how he never wanted to meet her.
Taylor Pippen in an interview with El Mundo, talking about her father Scottie Pippen quoted: “I don’t know what he is like as a father. He never wanted to meet me. He decided that it would be like that and I prefer not to dwell on the matter too much. I was born and raised near Chicago so you can imagine how many questions I have been asked about my father. I know how much my surname weighs, I know that people expect a lot from me, but, after all these years, I have learned that Pippen is just that, a surname.”
Scottie Pippen now has really spoiled many relationships of his. And, in this one, it’s his daughter who’s suffering and had to answer a lot of questions growing up. Sports Illustrated even tagged Pippen with the nickname, “A father who should fix too many mistakes made.” In the same year his then-fiancée, Yvette Deleone gave birth to another girl.
Is Scottie Pippen’s daughter, Taylor an athlete?
Scottie Pippen never wanted to meet his daughter Taylor Pippen. But the genetics, talent, and hard work of Taylor Pippen had her grow into a solid athlete. After recording a great run playing volleyball at Carmel Highschool in Mundelein, Illinois she went on to join the Southern Illinois University. There she added to her greats and gained more recognition. She also made it to the MVC All-Freshmen team and even earned MVC Scholar-Athlete Owners.
She also played professional volleyball overseas in Spain for Figaro Peluqueros Haris. But unfortunately, that run didn’t age well and she had to turn back after a short tenure. She has done her graduation from SIU with a major in Accounting and a minor in Marketing. As of now, she serves as the Assistant Vice President at Wintrust Commercial Banking in Chicago.
Scottie Pippen lately has been losing a lot of many of his friends and family members, so we hope he’s able to get things right as soon as possible and even accepts his daughter.
