“This era is definitely tougher” Scottie Pippen ends different-eras comparison after making shocking admission on modern-day NBA

Scottie Pippen comes from a very dominant era of the sport of basketball. During the 80s and 90s, the league was filled with a lot physicality and players of all-time great status. Teams such as the Showtime Lakers, Bad Boy Pistons and the Celtics army were at the top of their game winning multiple titles. The NBA was going through a revitalization period at this time.

We saw Michael Jordan lead the league for the years he was actively playing with the Chicago Bulls. The NBA was more or less a group of players trying to tackle down one thriving force. The league was more focused on fundamentals rather than playing with style and pace. Often we find players of the current generation battle it out with the former faces of the organization.

We can all agree that the league has become more competitive with every player trying to make a mark on how the game is being played. Stephen Curry for example has influenced the game to make more attempts and play with flashiness. Scottie Pippen made a crazy admission during a summer league game comparing to how the league was when he played.

“I would yes, I think watching these players, the stamina, the pace of the game. This is a tough game to keep up with the pace and you gotta be able to make shots. If you’re not making shots you’re going to be sitting over there with the coach. So, I think this is a tougher era to be successful in cause you need to be able to shoot the basketball. The guys that shoot the basketball from range are much more valuable.”

The Summer League has been quite the energetic show. Scottie Pippen’s son, Scottie Pippen Jr. signed a two way deal with the Los Angeles Lakers. He went undrafted due to his stature and low athleticism. The young legend will mostly spend time in the G-league because being accessed and sent to the main stage.

During his first game against the Phoenix Suns, he scored 19 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists to the board. Unfortunately, the Lakers wound up losing by 20 points. Former LA legend Shaquille O’Neal’s son also worked up a similar situation after going undrafted. Shareef O’Neal also will play alongside Pippen Jr.
