“Michael Jordan and I would find this a tougher era to be successful” Scottie Pippen makes bold claim after witnessing his son in 2022 Summer League

Scottie Pippen is the latest Hall of Famer to witness his son trying to make a name for himself against the more popular players in the Summer League. Having a chance to throw the kitchens ink in order to secure a roster-berth with LA Lakers, it seems like the Chicago Bulls legend has got a true taste of modern-day NBA. What makes us say that? Check his latest take.
During Scottie Pippen Jr’s latest game for the Lakers in the Summer League, his father went onto claim how Michael Jordan and he would have found modern-day NBA a relatively tougher era to be successful in. Given that this era is often known to be ‘soft’ compared to action-packed 80’s and 90’s league, Scottie’s comments can be huge, especially when every analyst is trying to pick on every word.
What was opinionated by Scottie Pippen on modern-day NBA?

Scottie Pippen was in town to be a commentator for his son’s game against the Charlotte Hornets. What a fitting story: Father commentating on a game where the son plays against his best friend’s team (Michael Jordan is the owner of Charlotte Hornets). Sounds quite intriguing, but it is indeed fairly simple.
It was during this session, Scottie Pippen, was asked a question, “Do you think the players today are better than the players of your era?

“I would say yes. I think that watching these players, the stamina, just the pace of the game. This is a tough game. I mean to keep up with this pace – and you’ve got to be able to make shots. If you’re not making shots, you’ll be sitting over there with the coach.”
He went on to add, “I think this is a tougher era to be successful because you need to be able to shoot the basketball. Bottomline. There are guys that can get to the hole and create opportunities. But the guys that can shoot the basketball from range are much more valuable in today’s game”.

Having said that, the Bulls legend would be proud of the way his son has been performing in the Summer League. Given that he has already caught the eye of LeBron James and Rob Pelinka, will we witness him alongside the greats in the 2022-23 regular season? Remains to be seen.
