Scottie Pippen has spent 17 years in the NBA and has seen plethora of youngsters at all positions making a name for themselves. Especially when he has played alongside the arguable G.O.A.T, Michael Jordan, Pippen surely known how and when to spot a one-in-a-generation-talent. Recently the 6 times NBA Champ went onto speak highly of Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Over the past couple of seasons, Giannis Antetokounmpo has gone onto lead his Milwaukee Bucks side deep into the playoffs, after consistently performing in the regular season. Having faced the deadliest of defenders, Pippen cannot help but fall in love with the Greek Freek’s ability to dominate the paint on either ends of the court. So much so, that Pippen went onto compare Giannis Antetokounmpo with Shaquille O’Neal.

In a bid to promote his book “Libere”, which is a French version of Unguarded, Scottie Pippen recently sat down for an interview with a French podcast called Trash Talk, wherein he spoke about modern-day NBA players and Giannis Antetokounmpo in particular.

“I don’t think I’m the guy that could guard Giannis. I think he’s too big,” Pippen revealed. “I think you got to try to force him out on the floor and when I mean out on the floor, you got to take him out of the paint, that’s your first job,” Pippen said. “Not an easy task by any means but he’s definitely a dominant player, reminds me a lot of Shaq. But I’m gonna say he has a little bit more range than even Shaq had.”

“Shaq had more power, more dominant, so he’s gonna definitely be coming at you with shots that are 70-80% that he can make. Where Giannis Antetokounmpo is gonna be a little bit more out but still shooting shots that are around 55-60%.”

That being said, all eyes will be on Giannis and how efficiently can he lead the Milwaukee Bucks in the semi-final series against the Boston Celtics. Will he be able to claim a valid spot in the G.O.A.T debate ever? Remains to be seen.
