Houston Rockets have been a regular name in the NBA headlines for the past week. As many around were questioning their move to bring in Ime Udoka as the new head coach of the team. As they fired Stephen Silas at the end of the regular season. And, now the Houston Rockets have made it official as they recently introduced Ime Udoka as their head coach.

The basketball world though isn’t really riding with this move of the Houston Rockets. As many fans around the world are opposing the decision of bringing in Ime Udoka, who was fired by the Boston Celtics, as he violated the code of conduct and the team’s policy by maintaining an intimate and improper relationship with a team staffer. He also made some unwanted comments towards her and unfortunately, the complete scandal was never revealed to the public.

Ime Udoka has apologized for his mistake but the world isn’t that forgiving. And, with the Houston Rockets making the move to bring him in, the team’s owner, Tillman Fertitta has come to his rescue and wants people to forgive him. During Ime Udoka’s presser and introduction as the new HC. Owner, Tillman Fertitta said: “We’re a forgiving society and everybody makes a mistake...What happened in his personal situation is definitely something we forgive him for… We’re a forgiving world and anybody that isn’t forgiving… then shame on them.”

The NBA also has no problems with the decision of the Houston Rockets to bring Ime Udoka back into the league. As Tillman Fertitta also quoted: “It’s important for me to feel good when I have questions and I get honest answers… The NBA told me they feel comfortable with Ime becoming coach of the Houston Rockets.” Also, decision of the Rockets came after they conducted a detailed research and background search on Ime and the situation. Tillman Fertitta believes in second chances and hopes Ime will turn around his team which hasn’t been successful at all over the past three seasons.

Can Ime Udoka turn the tables around for Houston Rockets?

Ime Udoka can surely turn the tables around for the Houston Rockets. And, he has already started to put in the work. As with the team rebuilding and trying to get better, Udoka is ready with an approach. Even owner Tillman Fertitta claimed to receive a “glowing report” on him, mentioning he likes his ability to coach a basketball team.

Houston Rockets has a pretty solid young core of Jalen Green, Alperen Sengun, Jabari Smith Jr., and Kevin Porter JR. The team also has a chance to land generational talents like Victor Wembanyama and Scoot Henderson in the upcoming draft.

And, all of these can bloom into a playoff contention team under Ime Udoka’s coaching. Also, with correct additions, adjustments, and chemistry he can soon get the team a real shot at the title.
