“This is a bad look for him” Shannon Sharpe believes current trade saga and speculations are not good for Kevin Durant’s legacy
Kevin Durant’s trade speculations came to an end recently when the news was that he will continue with his current team, Brooklyn Nets, for the upcoming 2022-2023 season. Kevin spent most of the off-season time waiting to join a new team after requesting the trade option, but it was an unsuccessful attempt. On the contrary, Shannon Sharpe, co-host of the show ‘Undisputed’ commented his thoughts about the whole Kevin Durant trade saga. He shared his thoughts about how the speculations made aren’t good enough for Kevin Durant’s legacy.
Shannon quoted, “He tracks down to Brooklyn (in 2019), on a team that he helped assemble, the head coach, and when it didn’t go the way he thought it would, he was willing to bail. This is a horrible look for him. It would have been a worse look if he had been able to follow through and get traded. It would’ve been an all-time worse look. But this is a bad look because it tells you about Kevin Durant. When things don’t go his way, or he is not winning the clip that he thinks, he is looking to make a move.
He further added, “He can get on there and go back and forth with Pat Beverley (in a Twitter beef), but it makes him look bad. It makes him look unhappy. It makes him look unpredictable. It makes him look uncertain, because as (ESPN’s Brian) Windhorst is reporting, they didn’t even know why he wanted to be traded. Hell, Kevin Durant didn’t know why he wanted to be traded. He woke up one morning and says, ‘I want out,’ and then he woke up a month and a half, almost two months later and says ‘Nah, I’m good, we can make it work’. So, for me, is an all-time bad move. He also made a few suggestions to the Nets player, saying, “Kevin Durant, bro, you got to find peace. I don’t know what’s going on with you and your life, but you got to find peace.”
Kevin Durant responds to Shannon Sharpe’s remarks
It seems that Kevin Durant wasn’t happy with the Nets’ management, and the rumors that his teammate and best friend, Kyrie Irving, will be traded to the LA Lakers off Russell Westbrook must have trigged Kevin to request a trade. But his request was denied, and with multiple years still left in his contract, he had no option but to continue with his current team. Kevin has faced much criticism on the social media platform since then; the recent addition to it was Shannon Sharpe.
Shannon suggested to the Nets star that he should attain peace irrespective of whatever is happening in his life. Kevin responded smartly by saying, “I swear I’ve never met Shannon Sharpe a day in my life man. Lol how does he know what I need?” This is not the first time Kevin has gotten into a heated argument with someone who has passed comments after his failed attempts to find a new team for himself.
