LeBron James

LA Lakers star LeBron James is currently enjoying his vacation in the Maldives during which he was disturbed by Skip Bayless on the latest episode of Undisputed. While co-host Shannon Sharpe sided with LBJ and explained the bigger picture of the Lakers’ failure.

Los Angeles Lakers had an early exit in the 2022 season and players will be getting ready for next season. As disappointing season as it may be, some players got a vacation to return fresh for 2023. LeBron James is one of them and he is spending his vacation in the Maldives with his family. Skip Bayless expressed his concerns and challenged King’s commitments to the sport. Shannon disagrees with him – as usual, and put on his views.

The subject surfaced when LeBron’s wife shared his dance video during the Vacation period. James seemed to be enjoying his vacation with some drinks and dancing. With the Playoffs going on and a record 17-time champion franchise like the Lakers out of it couldn’t bother him much. Skip had a problem with this situation but Shannon Sharp made his view clear supporting LeBron’s case.

LeBron James has been the face of NBA for countless number of years and has a very illustrious career. Winner of 4 NBA titles and 4 Finals MVP Awards, LeBron rarely missed playoffs. His 19th season in the league was a very disappointing one as it was just the 5th time he missed playoffs – the first initial was in his rookie and starting years and 2 with the Lakers.

So James and playoffs go hand-in-hand, wherein his performances in playoffs also had been on another higher level altogether. But this time around the dancing and celebrations indicated that he is less concerned about missing the playoffs. Skip targeted LeBron James for his behavior and compared him with the competitive nature of former Lakers great Kobe Bryant, whose “black Mamba” mentality defined his legacy and commitments.

Shannon Sharp differed from the comments and said that it was not LeBron who missed the 2022 postseason but the complete Lakers team is to blame. He took the chance to take a dig at 1st round departing Brooklyn Nets. He said, “He went straight from the heart on twitter on I believe Friday, this past Friday and he talked about never ever will I miss the playoffs again in my career. However many years he’s got left okay I like that and he said this hurt with all caps hurt because it hurt. This is what we talked about with Kevin and Kyrie it did not hurt. It’s just like what was Kevin’s line ‘Happens. It’s like well it just happened.”

Shannon also supported King in the “scoring championship” point, he mentioned that LeBron James playing in a meaningless last game just for the scoring title does not suit 2008 scoring champion LeBron. Also, he added that Anthony Davis and the rest of the Lakers team failed to deliver on the court while James was making most of the games winnable. He was even part of MVP discussions in 2022 regular season. So it is not ethical to question LeBron James’ commitment to the sport
