Shannon Sharpe GOES OFF on Stephen A Smith for counting LeBron James and Lakers out
Stephen A. Smith warns against having faith in LA Lakers star, Anthony Davis.
L-R: Stephen A. Smith, Shannon Sharpe, and LeBron James
Stephen A. Smith has never been a fan of the Los Angeles Lakers star, Anthony Davis, no matter how hard the nine-time NBA All-Star tries to lift his team. He resounded his usual resentment during a recent episode of First Take.
Anthony Davis had a mind-blowing game for the Lakers game against the Minnesota Timberwolves with his record making 27 points, 25 rebounds, and five assists in a single game, drawing praise from the basketball world. In the absence of LeBron James, he has had to step up when needed and be the leader and warrior the Lakers needed. However, Stephen A. Smith is still not impressed and doesn’t rate him as much as other analysts.
Speaking with Shannon Sharpe on First Take, Stephen A. Smith went on a ranting spree mostly on his belief that AD can’t be trusted and only steps up against the lesser teams, with consistency as his main weakness. Fellow analyst, Sharpe wasn’t ready to let the slander go on and he defended the Lakers and Anthony Davis.
Big G. Big O. Big A. Big T. Period. Period. Period. Did you forget Stephen A.? You must’ve forgot!
Sharpe ended his rebuttal to Stephen A.
Despite the lack of faith from Stephen A. in Davis and the Lakers, he is averaging 24.8 PPG, 12.5 RPG, and 3.5 APG. Davis is strongly leading the Lakers out of their mid-season slump.
Anthony Davis on Lakers postseason chances
While Stephen A. might not have that much of a belief in him, Anthony Davis was full of confidence after the win against the Timberwolves. After all, he created a new NBA record in a spectacular win. The power forward ended the game with 27 points, 25 rebounds, seven steals, five assists, and three blocks. The first person in the history of the league to achieve such numbers.
He spoke to the press about his team’s chances come the postseason. Claiming that they’re ready to take anyone and no team can beat them in a seven-game series.
I think we’re hitting our stride right now--We’ve had some really good wins. … We’re just trying to keep going, keep pushing, knowing that just like last year, all we got to do is get in. We feel like it’s tough for anybody to beat us in a seven-game series. … We like our chances against anybody at that point.Davis boldly claimed
The Lakers have improved since falling below their own standards immediately after winning the inaugural NBA Cup. Furthermore, their present form has seen them mount a challenge to remain in contention for a place in the postseason and subsequently challenge for the title.
