“He has better defence than anybody in the team” Shannon Sharpe hypes Patrick Beverley’s inclusion in depleted LA Lakers
The Laker’s most recent addition has brought forth a multitude of reactions from everywhere. But while a lot of people wonder how Patrick Beverley will fit into the Lakers dynamic, Shannon Sharpe, co-host of Undisputed believes Beverley’s contribution will be plentiful to the Los Angeles Lakers.
On Undisputed, Sharpe expressed excitement and assurance in Patrick Beverley stating, “ “I like the deal a lot,” Sharpe stated. “I don’t believe Patrick Beverley is the defender he once was, but he’s better at defending than anybody the Lakers currently have…” Sharpe continued, “What Pat brings to the table is exactly what Darvin Ham is looking for. A defensive intensity, a defensive mindset and a role player that understands his role and is willing to master that.”
Patrick Beverley Coming To The Lakers
After being traded from the Clippers, has played with Houston and Minnesota. Before he could suit up to play with the Utah Jazz he was brought back to Hollywood in a trade that saw Talen Horton-Tucker and Stanley Johnson go to Utah and him to the Lakers.
The 10 year veteran is a menace on the court, defensively especially. And it is apparent to everyone that Beverley is not afraid to have his voiced heard, especially if it is about his teammates. As Sharpe mentioned, Beverley could provide very well on defense as the past season the Lakers blew multiple leads and could not catch up in many games due to their weak defense. Beverley’s contribution will help LeBron James as he fights for another championship entering his 20th season.
While Beverley will definitely be an asset on the court, many people are concerned rightfully so about his behaviour and personality, known for his arrogance and harsh tactics of intimidation, he has not made friends with Lakers nations till now and if Rusell Westbrook is still part of the squad come opening day, the two who have shared a fierce rivalry over the years they may have to share the same court which could be a fierce backcourt but many believed the pairing will not be friendly.
