Shannon Sharp on LeBron James and Kevin Durant switching places in All NBA teams
Shannon Sharp reacts to the All NBA first team selections, supporting all selected players, with just one change in the positions – LeBron James switching spots with Kevin Durant. Moreover, the sports media analyst went onto emphasise upon the legendary of Lakers superstar.
All NBA first teams were announced just before the game 4 between Golden State Warriors and Dallas Mavericks. All the votes and their respective weightage were calculated, top 15 players were selected – 3 for each position. These top 3 players were then placed into respective teams, based on their rankings score-wise. Giannis Antetokounmpo was a sole unanimous top pick for 1st team while Kevin Durant, Jayson Tatum, LeBron James, DeMar DeRozan, and Pascal Siakam completed the top forwards list. Having scored 169 points in the voting, LeBron was 5th best forward overall and was placed in All NBA 3rd team.
Shannon Sharp was not happy with the respective score and subsequent placement of the Los Angeles Lakers superstar. He threw some stats supporting LBJ’s claim to at least 2nd team and even suggested that he could swap places with KD

All NBA selection is an indirect reward for a player’s performance in the 82-game regular season. Stars of the team and marquee players of the team make an impact on the game and are mostly a deciding factor for the results. LeBron James and Kevin Durant defiantly suit the criteria with their relentless efforts, influential plays, and illustrious careers.
As per Shannon Sharp LeBron had better in the 2022 season than Kevin Durant. He gave some stats comparing both megastars and feels that LeBron should have gotten into the All-NBA 2nd team replacing Durant. Though 3-time NFL champion, Shannon considers other players to deserve their positions, he is looking for just one said the change in all the selected teams.
If we go by the stats, there is very little difference between LBJ and KD. LeBron had one of his best seasons at the age of 37, averaging 30.3 points, 8.2 rebounds, 6.2 assists, 1.3 steals, and 1.1 blocks per game. Kevin also performed well in the regular season, he had 29.9 points, 7.4 rebounds, 6.4 assists, .9 steals, and .9 blocks average in 55 games played. Shooting wise also both players scored around 52% from the field, though Durant had slightly better (38%) shooting efficiency from long range than LeBron (36%).
With so little to differentiate between the two players, Shannon Sharp put forward the main differentiating point as he said, “LeBron has been in the league for 19 years and he has been an All NBA player, 18 of those years. I don’t think people understand of how long LeBron James has been great. Plus he played with Russ, KD laughed as Russ, he know how hard it is to play with him. He left him, And LeBron had to play with him, that was something.”
As Shannon pointed out the teams with both stars played with shall also be considered while voting. Los Angeles Lakers couldn’t make it to the postseason, despite LeBron’s heroic performances, while Kevin had similar output on the court, at least his team supported him well and made it into the Play-in games.
