It is indeed safe to say now, just like how Skip Bayless cannot stand LeBron James, his partner-Shannon Sharpe simply cannot tolerate the heavy involvement of NBA referee, Scott Foster in games. Being one of the oldest refs in the league, who has officiated 1,477 regular season games over 25 years as an official, Foster seems to be feeling the hate coming from all around for bizarre calls. 

So, what did Foster do this around that pissed off Shannon Sharpe? While the former was in charge of officiating the hot-headed Game 4 class between Philadelphia 76ers and Miami Heat, it seems like there is another game which could have been decided by the irregular, inconsistent and obnoxious foul calling. And Sharpe becomes the latest to spot that out.

Shannon Sharpe wrote on his Twitter, “I wish Ref Scott Foster was an NBA player. At least that would justify his heavy involvement in the gms. He be thinking ppl come to gms or watch gms to see him.”

The ever so clear incident which millions of fans are keeping their eye-upon is, when Joel Embiid went onto smack Jimmy Butler in the head. Usually in such controversial plays, the culprit is handed with a flagrant-2. But just because Embiid was at his home-yard and helped his former teammate back up to his feet, Foster decided to only allow free-throws for Butler.

Which shocked plethora of fans watching the game, including Shannon Sharpe as an ejection for Embiid (as per the previous incident in the playoffs) could have changed the outcome on Game 4.

It does make fans think about the officiating which has been going on in the 2021-22 playoffs. Does Sharpe’s opinion hold still on water? Surely, he will be opinionating upon the same in the coming episode of Undisputed alongside Bayless. But for Foster, is the road going to get tougher amid huge backlash being bundled upon his way? Remains to be seen.
