Shannon Sharpe on Draymond Green

Draymond Green was well below-expectations for the Golden State Warriors in the season opening NBA Finals encounter. The heat of which he had to face in the couple of days break before the 2nd showdown. However, came Game 2, Draymond Green seemed to have got in a tangle with majority of Boston Celtics players.

On one particular incident Draymond Green tried to block Jaylen Brown while the latter shot a contested 3-pointer. Green not only collided with the Celtics star but also went onto throw his feet up on the head of Brown. As bizarre as the incident sound, Brown even went onto charge Green until he was pulled back by Jayson Tatum. However, with many feeling that Draymond Green should have been handed his second technical foul, sports media personality Shannon Sharpe too had the same opinion.

Shannon Sharpe talked about the Warriors forward, former DPOY and his Game 2 actions. The NBA analyst was asked whether the player should have been given a second technical foul, and this is what he said, “Yeah. You can’t put your feet on somebody’s head. … Draymond knows that it [ejection] will be less likely, because they [referees] don’t want to throw me out of the ball game in the NBA Finals. So I can keep it going.”

To those who are not aware, Sharpe made a great point about Draymond Green’s suspension back in the 2016 NBA Finals. He pointed out that everyone talked about Green’s suspension. However, no one wanted to talk about how many flagrant fouls he had accumulated by that point, which resulted in the suspension.

That being said, with the Game 3 action now moving to Boston in the backyard of the Celtics, Draymond Green is going to have thousands of home fans trying to boo every time he touches the ball. Will the former DPOY be able to keep his head cool and finish the game off for his team? Or will Celtics once again take the honors in the NBA Finals? Remains to be seen.
