Brooklyn Nets had one of the best title contender teams after Kevin Durant returned to the court in full health, overcoming all his injury vows. But their experiment with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving has given basketball fans plenty of highlights and drama but no expected success for the franchise. And now after 3 seasons, Kyrie Irving’s future is uncertain at the Media Center of the states; while very recently tied down Kevin Durant also seeks a trade away from the franchise.

KD won the championship with the Warriors when he left OKC, and now his trade request has people questioning the 7-footer’s grit. On the “Undisputed” Shannon Sharp and Skip Bayless discussed his request for change in the scenario.

Shannon Sharpe said “I was surprised, but then I realized KD’s a runner, he’s a track star, he’s going to run away when it gets hard… I’m so disappointed in KD… he wanted to build his own team… now he wants out, already?!” 54-years analyst suggested any mention of Durant now should not be in any of the GOAT conversations, especially in relation to current megastar LeBron James.

Shannon Sharp considers Kevin Durant as a “Runner” rather than a “Fighter”

Kevin Durant is an elite player. Everyone accepts that fact, but he didn’t win any NBA title of his own. Yes, he won 2 NBA Championships and was very effective on the court even for strong Golden State Warriors. He even won 2 Finals MVP awards as recognition for his efforts to dispatch the Cavs in 8 out of 9 games in 2 different seasons.

But the Golden State Warriors of 2017 and 2018 were well-established ones, and Durant it a little bit easy to win the coveted trophy. So when he left for the Nets one year later, many considered it a smarter move and shall be accepted as that team’s “bus driver.”

But after 3 seasons at the nets, in which KD played for 2 seasons, Franchise won just 1 playoff series and recently was swept in 1st round by the eventual finalists Boston Celtics. So, after such a horrific display, one might expect a player of Kevin Durant’s quality should make huge demands to add talent to the team or put forward magnum efforts to bring in what was expected of them.

But sadly 4-time scoring champion asked for a trade and that too two of the top sides of last season. And in an odd twist, there are rumblings that Easy Money Sniper may have been inspired to go back westward and reconcile with his previous team and 2022 NBA champs: the Golden State Warriors.

Now it will be interesting to watch, how teams will bid in for one of the top prospects of the league while keeping their main players intact. It seems hardly impossible that the Nets would let KD go for cheap, and teams making offers would go “all-in” for 33-years old forward, after recent success. But it is for sure that, KD’s trade would shift the power game of the entire league.
