Shannon Sharpe urges Scotty Pippen Jr to leave the Lakers after Malik Beasley’s arrival

Scotty Pippen Jr was probably caught up in an awkward scenario upon Malik Beasley's arrival to the Lakers. Beasley was romantically involved with Larsa Pippen, Scotty's mother and Shannon Sharpe urged the young man to request a trade from the lakers.

Former NFL player and sports commentator Shannon Sharpe recently spoke about the Los Angeles Lakers’ new roster on his show “Undisputed”. The Lakers recently acquired Malik Beasley, Jared Vanderbilt and D’Angelo Russell at the trade deadline. It was a blockbuster 3-team trade which also involved Russell Westbrook and Mike Conley.

Lakers Rookie Scotty Pippen Jr is the son of former NBA Champion Scottie Pippen and Larsa Pippen. Larsa and Malik Beasley were in a relationship in 2020. Sharpe felt this reason alone was enough for the 22-year-old to switch Teams. On a recent episode of Undisputed, Sharpe who was alongside commentator Skip Bayless, said, “If I’m Scotty Pippen Jr., I want a trade…Malik Beasley coming on my team, I gotta go! I will fight it,” added Sharpe.

After going unselected in the 2022 NBA draft, Pippen Jr signed a two-way contract with the Los Angeles Lakers on July 1, 2022, splitting time with their G League affiliate, the South Bay Lakers. The Rookie, as of now is out of the Lakers’ rotation.

Malik Beasley and Larsa Pippen were first spotted in Miami

In December 2020, Larsa Pippen made headlines when she was spotted holding hands with Malik Beasley, who was then with the Minnesota Timberwolves. The two were photographed together in Miami, sparking rumors of a potential romantic relationship.

Larsa, who is a reality TV personality, initially denied any romantic involvement with Beasley and claimed that they were just friends. However, Beasley’s wife, Montana Yao, publicly expressed her disappointment at the photos, as she was still married to Beasley at the time.

In February 2021, Beasley and Yao announced that they had separated and were pursuing a divorce. Beasley issued a public apology to his family and fans, stating that he was “not proud of his actions” and that he would “do better.” Larsa Pippen is currently dating Marcus Jordan, the son of former NBA Champion Michael Jordan.
